NovaSec Labs is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our dynamic security team in Seattle. You will design and implement robust security controls across on-premises and cloud environments, drive secure development practices, and lead proactive defense initiatives. Responsibility
- Lead the design and implementation of security controls across multi-cloud and on-premises environments to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
- Own threat modeling, risk assessment, and vulnerability management programs to drive proactive defense.
- Lead incident response and post-incident analysis, including root cause determination and remediation tracking.
- Collaborate with Engineering to integrate secure development lifecycles and DevSecOps practices into product delivery.
- Mentor junior security engineers and deliver security awareness training across the organization.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience in complex environments.
- Strong experience with threat intelligence, SIEM, EDR/XDR, and incident response.
- Deep knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and zero-trust concepts.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell) and security tooling.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
