Job description
Join NexaGuard Technologies as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer in San Francisco. You will shape the security posture of our platform, collaborate with Product, SRE, and DevOps teams, and drive risk reduction across cloud and on-prem environments.
In this hands-on role, you will design secure architectures, implement robust controls, and lead incident response initiatives to protect customer data and critical assets.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and implementation of secure architectures across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Define security standards, conduct risk assessments, and validate controls against frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001.
- Own incident response lifecycle: detection, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident reviews.
- Oversee vulnerability management, threat modeling, and coordination with red/blue teams or third-party testers.
- Build and maintain security automation within CI/CD pipelines and IaC tooling to ensure secure software delivery.
- Monitor security telemetry using SIEM/EDR, investigate alerts, and tune detections to reduce false positives.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to embed security by design in features and roadmaps.
- Provide mentorship and drive security awareness across the organization, including vendor risk management.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering or security operations experience.
- Strong cloud security expertise (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) and containerized workloads (Kubernetes).
- Deep knowledge of IAM, zero-trust architectures, network security, encryption, key management, and data loss prevention.
- Proven incident response experience and familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and incident postmortems.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD security, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), and secure SDLC practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP are highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and ability to influence at cross-functional levels.
