NovaGuard Technologies is a leading cybersecurity innovator helping enterprises protect critical data and operations. We design and deploy security controls across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments using a modern stack and a threat-informed approach.
We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer who can translate strategic security goals into practical, scalable solutions. You will collaborate with product, platform, and DevOps teams to strengthen our security posture while maintaining velocity and reliability.
In this role you will own security design, participate in architecture reviews, and drive the implementation of identity, access, and data protection controls. A strong focus on automation, cloud security, and incident response will be key to your success.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and operate security controls across cloud and on-prem networks, including identity, access management, network segmentation, and data protection.
- Lead and coordinate incident response, perform root-cause analysis, and drive lessons learned to improve detection and containment.
- Develop threat models, perform risk assessments, and manage vulnerability management programs with remediation tracking.
- Partner with software engineering and DevOps teams to integrate security into SDLC using CI/CD pipelines and IaC.
- Automate security workflows using Python, scripting, and security tooling; manage configurations in Terraform/CloudFormation.
- Monitor security posture with SIEM/EDR/IDS, investigate alerts, and tune detections to reduce false positives.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct security reviews, and contribute to architecture and incident playbooks.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering or a security operations role.
- Strong cloud security experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including IAM, networking, and data protection.
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, Elastic) and EDR solutions; experience with threat hunting and incident response.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, PowerShell) and IaC tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Solid knowledge of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and secure architecture patterns.
- CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certifications are a plus; excellent communication and collaboration skills.
