NovaSec Tech is seeking a results-driven Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our vibrant security engineering team in Austin. This role focuses on building resilient, scalable security controls for cloud-native applications and protecting critical data across the organization. You will influence security design decisions, drive modernization efforts, and help shape a robust security posture.
As a member of the Security Engineering team, you will partner with Product, DevOps, and IT to design and implement robust security measures, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement in our security posture. Responsibility
- Design and implement secure cloud architectures and security controls across AWS and on-premise environments.
- Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and security reviews for new initiatives.
- Develop and maintain automation for vulnerability management, patching, and compliance.
- Lead incident response efforts, forensics, and post-incident analysis.
- Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and product teams to embed security into the SDLC.
- Assess and improve identity and access management, zero trust, and IAM controls.
- Mentor junior engineers and drive security awareness across the organization.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with emphasis on cloud security.
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, SANS GIAC) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related security services.
- Experience with SIEM, EDR, threat intelligence, and incident response.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) and automation tools.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
