CipherWave Labs is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Seattle security team. This pivotal role designs and implements secure architectures across cloud and on-prem environments, improves threat detection, and leads incident response activities. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed security into the SDLC and drive security maturity across the organization.

Responsibility
- Lead the design, implementation, and operation of secure architectures across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Develop and enforce security controls, threat modeling, and defense-in-depth strategies.
- Monitor, detect, and respond to incidents using SIEM/EDR and network analytics; coordinate rapid incident response.
- Manage vulnerability assessments, remediation tracking, and risk reduction for complex systems.
- Collaborate with DevOps and software teams to embed security into the SDLC (shift-left).
- Conduct threat hunting and maintain threat intelligence feeds; document findings and actions.
- Drive security automation and tooling (playbooks, scripts, CI/CD integrations) to improve mean time to detect/repair.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; 5+ years of security engineering experience.
- Strong cloud security experience across AWS/Azure/GCP; hands-on IAM and policy management.
- Proven knowledge of security operations, incident response, threat modeling, and vulnerability management.
- Experience with SIEM (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and EDR (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and security automation.
- Solid understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and zero-trust concepts.
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CompTIA Security+) preferred.
