At Aegis Cybersecurity Solutions, we protect leading enterprises with modern, proactive security architectures. We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Austin, TX.
In this role, you will design and implement cloud-native security controls, lead incident response initiatives, and collaborate with developers to build resilient software systems. You’ll influence security strategy, accelerate secure delivery, and help customers reduce risk in dynamic environments.

Responsibility
- Design, implement, and operate cloud security controls across AWS, Azure, and multi-cloud environments.
- Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and secure design reviews for new projects.
- Develop and automate security monitoring, detection, and incident response playbooks.
- Perform secure code and architecture reviews, and advocate for security best practices in CI/CD pipelines.
- Respond to security incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate remediation efforts.
- Collaborate with DevOps/SRE teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle.
- Mentor junior engineers, contribute to security standards, and participate in community and customer engagements.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; 5+ years in cybersecurity roles.
- Proven cloud security expertise (AWS and/or Azure) with hands-on implementation experience.
- Strong knowledge of IAM, network security, encryption, data protection, and DLP concepts.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and at least one common security tooling stack (SIEM, EDR, WAF).
- Experience with vulnerability management, pen testing partnerships, and incident response.
- Familiarity with secure SDLC, threat modeling (STRIDE), and risk assessment methodologies.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSK, or cloud security specialties are a plus.
