Nova Analytics is a fast-growing data science company delivering predictive analytics solutions to leading retailers. We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our Seattle-based team. You will own end-to-end modeling projects, collaborating with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to turn data into actionable strategies.
In this role, you’ll design, prototype, and productionize machine learning models, set up experiments, and coach junior data scientists. We value curiosity, impact, and practical, scalable solutions.
Responsibility
- Own end-to-end data science projects from problem framing to deployment and monitoring.
- Develop and evaluate machine learning models (regression, classification, time-series, NLP) and select the most effective approach.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to ship models into production and iterate based on feedback.
- Design robust experiments, including A/B/n testing and causal inference, to validate model impact.
- Translate complex analytics into clear, actionable business insights and present findings to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the data science roadmap and best practices.
- Optimize data pipelines, ensure model observability, and maintain model governance.
Qualification
- Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on data science experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit-learn) and SQL; experience with R is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong understanding of experimental design, A/B testing, and model evaluation metrics.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) and building scalable data pipelines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
