Job description

CloudForge Solutions seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and optimize our cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and observability stack. This full-time role in Austin, TX offers the opportunity to shape scalable, secure, and highly available systems used by hundreds of customers.

You will partner with software engineers, SREs, and product teams to automate, monitor, and improve our platforms, from code commit to production. If you love cloud-native architectures, automation, and fast feedback loops, this is your role.

Responsibility

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins) to enable rapid, reliable software delivery.
  • Architect and automate cloud infrastructure across AWS, with IaC using Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Develop and manage containerized deployments with Kubernetes, Helm, and container runtimes.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Enforce security and compliance in CI/CD, configurations, and access controls; implement IAM roles and secrets management.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, SREs, and product managers to define roadmaps, requirements, and SLIs/SLOs.
  • Drive disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, cost optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Mentor junior engineers, promote best practices, and contribute to DevOps standards and documentation.

Qualification

  • 5+ years as DevOps, Platform Engineer, or SRE with strong cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and automation scripting (Python, Bash, Go).
  • Expertise in IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates; configuration management (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes; service meshes, Helm, and cloud-native networking.
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration skills; experience in monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK).
  • Security-focused mindset; knowledge of secret management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager) and IAM.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
