Job description
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our fast-growing tech company in Berlin. You will design, build, and operate scalable CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud infrastructure, and implement monitoring and security controls to ensure high availability and performance of production systems.
Collaborate with software engineers to improve deployment velocity, reliability, and incident response. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to influence platform decisions and mentor junior engineers.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies for microservices.
- Build and manage robust cloud infrastructure (AWS or multi-cloud) with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (Ansible, Chef).
- Automate provisioning, monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure high availability and performance.
- Champion security best practices, IAM, and secret management across environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment velocity, reliability, and incident response.
- Implement and manage container orchestration (Kubernetes) and container security policies.
- Own on-call rotations and incident management, post-incident reviews, and root-cause analysis.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote SRE practices, while continuously improving platform reliability.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of DevOps/SRE experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions).
- Proficient in IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (Ansible, Chef/Puppet).
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container security best practices.
- Solid scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
- Strong monitoring and observability capabilities (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Loki).
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills; fluency in English; German is a plus.
