Join NorthStar Cloud Solutions as a Senior DevOps Engineer in Austin, Texas. Help design and operate a scalable, secure cloud platform that enables our product teams to deliver rapidly and reliably.
You will own and evolve core cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation platforms, while mentoring engineers across the organization. This is a hybrid role with on-site collaboration in Austin, with strong support for the remote-first mindset.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent tooling
- Architect and operate scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, with multi-cloud awareness (GCP/Azure)
- Containerize applications and manage Kubernetes clusters, ensuring security and resilience
- Develop and enforce infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent
- Implement comprehensive observability: monitoring, logging, alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK
- Automate provisioning, deployment, and release processes to reduce toil and improve velocity
- Collaborate with software engineers to embed DevOps practices, cost controls, and security by design
- Mentor teammates and contribute to platform strategy and incident response playbooks
Qualification
- 5+ years of hands-on DevOps or SRE experience in cloud-native environments
- Proven expertise in cloud platforms (AWS preferred; multi-cloud experience a plus)
- Strong Kubernetes and containerization knowledge; experience managing clusters at scale
- Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
- Extensive experience with CI/CD tooling (GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD)
- Automation and scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go)
- Solid understanding of observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and incident response
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities; bachelor’s degree or equivalent
