HeritageVault Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Digital Archivist to lead our digital preservation and archival metadata initiatives. This role blends hands-on preservation work with strategy, cross-department collaboration, and technology implementation to safeguard cultural and organizational memory for years to come.

Responsibility
- Design, implement, and optimize digital preservation workflows for born-digital and digitized assets.
- Oversee ingestion, metadata creation, cataloging, and accessioning of digital collections.
- Lead implementation and administration of the DAMS (e.g., ArchivesSpace) and related tools.
- Develop preservation plans, risk assessments, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with IT, legal, and curatorial teams to ensure data security, retention, and accessibility.
- Establish quality control processes, validation, and auditing of archival metadata.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff on standards, workflows, and best practices.
Qualification
- MLS/MLIS or Master's degree in Information Science, Library Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in archival environments, with a focus on digital archives.
- Strong knowledge of archival standards and metadata schemas (PREMIS, METS/ALTO, Dublin Core, METS-XML).
- Experience with digital asset management systems (ArchivesSpace, Omeka, AtoM, or similar) and XML-based workflows.
- Proven project management, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
