Job description

Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad, a premier automotive distributor in Malaysia, invites applications for the role of Senior Executive, Finance & Accounts. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end Accounts Receivable process, monitor cash flow and liquidity, perform monthly reconciliations of the general ledger and sub-ledgers, and ensure SST compliance. You will own the accuracy of financial statements, support internal and external audits, and contribute to continuous process improvement.

You will be responsible for coordinating month-end close activities, preparing timely management reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecast cycles. You will partner with sales, logistics, procurement, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies, optimize working capital, and implement robust internal controls within the organization. Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel is essential as you will be preparing data-driven insights for leadership.

Responsibility

  • Manage accounts receivable lifecycle, monitor aging, and coordinate timely collections.
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting and daily cash management to maintain liquidity.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers.
  • Ensure SST compliance and accurate related reporting.
  • Prepare and review timely management and statutory financial reports.
  • Support internal and external audits with thorough documentation and controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and optimize working capital.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business decisions.

Qualification

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional qualification such as ACCA/CIMA is preferred.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, preferably in manufacturing or automotive sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of AR, AP, GL, cash flow management and SST compliance.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and MS Excel; experience with SAP or Oracle is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain high levels of integrity and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of financial reporting standards (MFRS/IFRS) and internal controls.
  • Team collaboration and ability to work across departments.
