LegacyQuest Archaeology & Cultural Services is seeking a seasoned Senior Field Archaeologist to lead field operations on CRM projects in the Boston area. This role combines fieldwork, supervision, and scientific interpretation to deliver high-quality cultural resource management outcomes.
As a key member of our team, you will plan and execute archaeological surveys and excavations, supervise field crews, ensure data integrity, and contribute to final reporting for clients and stakeholders.

Responsibility
- Lead and supervise archaeological field surveys, excavations, and documentation in accordance with standards and regulations.
- Plan daily field operations, safety protocols, quality control, and data management.
- Manage field crews, assign tasks, mentor junior staff, and promote inclusive teamwork.
- Oversee artifact handling, labeling, conservation, and curation in accordance with archival standards.
- Coordinate with clients and stakeholders, prepare progress reports, and support site forms and GIS mapping.
- Ensure compliance with permits, ethics, and data sharing policies; assist in project budgeting and scheduling.
- Contribute to publication-ready reports and site interpretation, supporting outreach and education initiatives.
Qualification
- BS or MS in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field; MS preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of field archaeology experience; CRM or academic setting preferred.
- Proficiency in standard field methods including mapping, stratigraphic recording, shovel testing, and backfilling.
- Experience with artifact handling, cataloging, conservation, and laboratory processing.
- Strong report writing, data management, and GIS skills; familiarity with AutoCAD/ArcGIS.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management abilities.
- Ability to work in diverse field conditions and willing to travel as required.
