Join Private Advertiser as a Senior Finance Executive in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. You will lead accounting operations, prepare monthly and annual financial statements, manage budgeting and forecasting, and ensure regulatory compliance across all financial activities. This pivotal role supports decision-making at the highest level and requires a proactive, detail-oriented finance professional with a solid grasp of Malaysian accounting standards.
In this role you will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, cash management, and payroll processing. You will drive the month-end close, deliver accurate financial reporting, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets. You will coordinate audits, liaise with external auditors and tax authorities, and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and accuracy. You will collaborate with senior management to develop budgets, forecast performance, analyze variances, and provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic initiatives. A strong commitment to compliance, ethics, and professional standards is essential.
Responsibility
- Lead the monthly and annual closing process, ensuring timely, accurate financial statements in line with MFRS/IFRS.
- Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, payroll, and treasury activities.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and debt facilities to support business operations and growth.
- Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts; perform variance analysis and management reporting for stakeholders.
- Maintain robust internal controls, safeguarding assets and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and audits.
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting; implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic financial insights and support decision-making at the executive level.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; professional qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a similar industry.
- Solid knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) or IFRS and local tax regulations.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities; ability to drive process improvements and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
