Job description
Join Nebula Stream Labs as a Senior Game Streaming Engineer in Seattle. You will help design and operate scalable live streaming pipelines, optimize latency, and ensure broadcast quality across platforms.
You will partner with game developers, content creators, and product teams to deliver seamless, high-impact live experiences for millions of viewers.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and scale end-to-end live streaming pipelines (encoding, CDN distribution, latency optimization).
- Collaborate with game developers and creators to integrate streaming features and overlays.
- Operate monitoring, alerting, and incident response to ensure 99.99% uptime.
- Drive optimization of encoding settings, bitrates, and adaptive streaming strategies for diverse networks.
- Evaluate and integrate new streaming technologies and platforms (OBS, RTMP, WebRTC).
- Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for production-grade streaming.
- Partner with partnerships and monetization teams to deliver sponsor integrations and ads without compromising quality.
Qualification
- 5+ years in live video production, game streaming, or related field.
- Strong expertise with OBS, RTMP, HLS, DASH, and encoding pipelines.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and content delivery networks.
- Proven track record of delivering low-latency streaming applications.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Terraform).
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Multimedia, or related field; or equivalent experience.
