NovaStream Interactive is seeking a Senior Game Streaming Platform Engineer to lead the design and optimization of a high-performance, cloud-native streaming pipeline. You will own components spanning ingest, transcoding, and delivery, ensuring ultra-low latency and exceptional reliability for streamers and viewers alike. This role blends systems engineering, media processing, and product collaboration to ship features that delight a global gaming audience.
Based in Los Angeles with flexible remote options, you will work with a cross-functional team across engineering, product, and design to scale our platform to new horizons.
Responsibility
- Architect and implement scalable ingestion, transcoding, and delivery services for live game streaming.
- Optimize for ultra-low latency and high availability across global regions.
- Design cloud-native infrastructure using AWS or GCP, Kubernetes, and containerization.
- Build observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response for streaming workloads.
- Collaborate with product and design to define features and roadmaps.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews.
- Partner with CDN providers and security teams to ensure performance and compliance.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent; 5+ years building large-scale streaming or media platforms.
- Deep expertise in video encoding (H.264/AV1, VP9), streaming protocols (RTMP, RTSP, WebRTC, HLS, DASH).
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD.
- Proficient in performance profiling, GPU encoding, and low-latency optimization.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana) and logging (ELK/EFK).
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Bonus: experience with live eSports platforms and real-time analytics.
