As a Senior Gameplay Programmer, you will own core gameplay features, prototype new mechanics, optimize performance, and mentor junior engineers. You will work closely with designers, artists, and producers to ship high-quality experiences for PC and console.

Responsibility

  • Own and implement core gameplay systems and mechanics across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with designers and artists to translate design intent into robust gameplay features.
  • Mentor and review code for junior engineers, establishing best practices and coding standards.
  • Profile, optimize, and improve performance with a focus on frame rate and memory budgets.
  • Prototype new gameplay ideas and iterate based on playtesting feedback.
  • Debug, diagnose, and fix gameplay issues across PC and console platforms.
  • Partner with QA and production to plan milestones and deliverables.

Qualification

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of professional game development experience with C++ in Unreal Engine or Unity.
  • Strong knowledge of gameplay programming, AI, animation, physics, and UI integration.
  • Experience with optimization and profiling tools (e.g., engine profilers, RenderDoc, Visual Studio or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to design and implement maintainable, scalable gameplay systems.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; mentorship experience preferred.
  • Track record shipping at least one game or major feature to release state.
  • Nice to have: experience with console development and shader programming.
