We are seeking a results-driven Senior Horticulturist to lead our greenhouse and field production programs in Fresno, CA. In this role, you will shape planting strategies, optimize resources, and mentor a growing team to ensure superior crop quality, yield, and sustainability across our operations. You will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, supply chain, and sales to drive continuous improvement and responsible farming practices. Responsibility
- Lead greenhouse production, including climate control, irrigation management, and nutrient optimization.
- Plan and coordinate field production, crop scheduling, harvest operations, and post-harvest processes.
- Develop and execute Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to minimize chemical inputs.
- Monitor crop health, diagnose issues, and coordinate with R&D for cultivar trials and trials planning.
- Manage and coach a small team; schedule shifts; ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Analyze production data, forecast yields, and optimize resource utilization to boost efficiency.
- Collaborate with supply chain and sales to ensure product quality meets customer specifications.
- Promote sustainable farming practices, water stewardship, and waste reduction across facilities.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in greenhouse and field crop production.
- Strong knowledge of hydroponics/soilless and soil-based systems, irrigation, and fertigation.
- Proficiency with farm management software and data analytics to drive decisions.
- Experience with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and sustainable agriculture practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; proven team-building abilities.
- Physical ability to perform field tasks and lift up to 40 lbs; valid driver’s license.
- US work authorization; willingness to relocate to Fresno, CA if needed.
