VantageTech Solutions is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to lead cloud, infrastructure, and security initiatives that keep our systems scalable and reliable. This full-time role is based in Austin, Texas, with remote-friendly options for top candidates.
About the role
You will design, implement, and operate enterprise-grade IT solutions across cloud platforms, on-premises systems, and automation pipelines. You’ll collaborate with software engineers, security, and product teams to deliver resilient services.
What you’ll do
- Architect and implement scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure) with a focus on reliability, security, and cost optimization.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling to accelerate software delivery.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance, security, and uptime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver innovative IT solutions.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem actions to prevent recurrence.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning and excellence.
- Document architectures, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

Responsibility
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud and on-prem infrastructure with a focus on reliability and security.
- Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
- Monitor performance, implement observability, and respond to incidents with rapid root-cause analysis.
- Partner with software, security, and product teams to translate requirements into effective IT solutions.
- Establish governance, standards, and documentation for IT tooling and processes.
- Mentor engineers, promote best practices, and drive continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and adopt new tools and technologies to keep the stack modern and efficient.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; 5+ years of IT engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and Linux server administration.
- Strong automation and scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar) and IaC tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of security best practices, IAM, network security, and incident response.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities; capable of mentoring teammates.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and documentation skills.
