Tan Tock Seng Hospital is seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager, Operations (Medicine) to lead the strategic and day-to-day operations of our Medicine services. In this pivotal role, you will partner with clinical leaders to deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centered care across inpatient wards, clinics, and allied services. You will champion operational excellence, drive performance improvements, and steward resources to support high-quality outcomes for Singapore's diverse patient population.
As the senior operations leader for Medicine, you will design and implement process improvements, optimize bed management and patient throughput, oversee staffing and workforce planning, and manage budgets. You will collaborate with Medical Directors, Nursing leadership, Pharmacy, Diagnostics, and Support Services to harmonize clinical pathways, reduce delays, and elevate the patient experience. You will navigate regulatory requirements, uphold quality standards, and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or similar methodologies. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, a patient-first mindset, and the ability to influence across multidisciplinary teams.

You will oversee governance, risk management, quality metrics, patient safety programs, and performance dashboards. You will lead talent development, mentorship, and vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and national guidelines. Responsibility
- Lead and optimize Medicine operations across inpatient and outpatient settings to ensure safe, timely, and patient-centered care.
- Strategize and implement operational plans to improve patient throughput, bed management, discharge processes, and clinical workflows.
- Partner with Medical Directors, Nursing leadership, Pharmacy, and Diagnostics to coordinate multidisciplinary care and service integration.
- Oversee budget development, staffing plans, workforce optimization, and productivity initiatives.
- Drive quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, monitoring performance metrics and implementing action plans.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, risk management, and governance across Medicine services.
- Lead change management initiatives and digital health projects that enhance service delivery and data-driven decision making.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing Operations team, fostering professional growth and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Medicine, Nursing, or related field; MBA/MPA/MHA or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum 8-12 years of progressive leadership experience in hospital operations, preferably within Medicine or Clinical Services.
- Proven track record of improving operational efficiency, patient throughput, and service quality in a large healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills at executive levels.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards, quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), and patient safety programs.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical, problem-solving, and change-management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
