As a key member of the forecasting team, you will translate complex meteorological outputs into actionable guidance and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibility
- Lead and improve high-resolution weather forecasts and nowcasting using established NWP models and observed data
- Develop and validate probabilistic forecast products and decision-support tools for clients
- Collaborate with data scientists to apply machine learning to meteorological datasets
- Communicate forecast uncertainty clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Publish and present findings to internal teams and external partners
- Mentor junior meteorologists and support staff
- Ensure compliance with quality control, best practices, and data governance
Qualification
- Master's degree or PhD in meteorology, atmospheric science, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional meteorology experience, including numerical weather prediction and model evaluation
- Expertise in Python or R for data analysis and forecasting workflows
- Experience with GIS tools and weather data visualization
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical results for diverse audiences
- Familiarity with climate and environmental data, risk assessment, and decision support
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across teams
