In this role, you will be at the forefront of weather prediction, model development, and risk communication, partnering with operations, R&D, and client services to deliver actionable intelligence.
Responsibility
- Lead development and validation of numerical weather prediction models, ensuring accuracy and operational reliability.
- Produce high-quality short- to medium-range forecasts and probabilistic guidance for diverse client needs.
- Integrate data from satellites, radar, radiosondes, and surface observations into forecast models.
- Interpret model outputs and generate decision-support products for operations teams and clients.
- Collaborate with researchers to advance model physics, assimilation techniques, and forecast workflows.
- Mentor junior meteorologists and ensure rigorous quality control of products and documentation.
- Present findings to internal and external stakeholders; contribute to conferences and peer-reviewed publications.
Qualification
- MS or PhD in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on operational meteorology experience in forecast centers or weather-related industries.
- Proficiency in Python and MATLAB (or R); strong statistical analysis and data visualization skills.
- Hands-on experience with NWP models (WRF, GFS, ECMWF) and data assimilation workflows.
- Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into actionable, client-facing products.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project-management skills.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
