Aurora NetWorks is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-grade networks for a diverse set of clients in the New York area. The ideal candidate combines deep networking expertise with hands-on experience deploying scalable solutions that ensure reliability, security, and performance across multi-site environments.
As a core member of our Networking team, you will collaborate with security, systems, and operations to deliver robust network infrastructure and play a pivotal role in strategy, design, and execution.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and upgrade enterprise LAN/WAN architectures including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN solutions.
- Manage and monitor network performance, capacity planning, and fault isolation.
- Lead network security initiatives including segmentation, ACLs, and VPN hardening.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project delivery and onboarding of new sites.
- Document network topologies, configurations, and runbooks; maintain CMDB and change logs.
- Develop and apply network automation and scripting to reduce manual tasks (Python, Ansible).
- Plan and execute network migration projects, vendor coordination, and change control.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering, design, and operations.
- Strong expertise in routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VLANs, QoS, WAN technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/NX-OS and/or Juniper Junos; familiarity with firewalls (Cisco ASA/NGFW, Palo Alto) and VPN technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring and analytics tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark).
- Knowledge of network automation (Python, Ansible, REST APIs) and scripting.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or JNCIP/JNCIE are preferred.
