Join NexaTech Networks, a leading provider of innovative networking solutions for enterprises worldwide. We are seeking a hands-on Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize resilient networks across data centers, cloud, and branch locations.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong collaboration skills, and a passion for building scalable network architectures that deliver performance, security, and reliability.
What you'll do: collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage critical network infrastructure, and drive continuous improvement. This is a full-time role based in Austin, TX or remote in the US with occasional on-site visits. Hybrid: 3 days on-site per week in Austin.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable enterprise networks (LAN/WAN) across data centers, cloud, and remote sites.
- Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN technologies from Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet.
- Lead network automation and orchestration using Python, Ansible, or similar tools; develop Infrastructure as Code where applicable.
- Monitor network performance, implement QoS, and optimize routes for low latency and high availability.
- Plan and execute network migrations, upgrades, and security hardening without business disruption.
- Collaborate with security, cloud, and application teams to enforce policy, segmentation, and threat detection.
- Document architectures, runbooks, and standard operating procedures; mentor junior engineers.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response to minimize MTTR.
Qualification
- 10+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in large-scale enterprise or service provider environments.
- Proven expertise with Cisco IOS XE/NX-OS, Juniper Junos, and Fortinet FortiGate; strong routing and switching fundamentals (BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VLANs).
- Experience with SD-WAN (e.g., Cisco Viptela, Fortinet Secure SD-WAN) and WAN optimization; data center fabrics (Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus, Arista).
- Familiarity with network security concepts: segmentation, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, zero-trust basics.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python or Ansible); hands-on with network monitoring and alerting tools (SolarWinds, NPM, PRTG, or similar).
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable network designs; excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; relevant industry certifications (CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, equivalent) preferred.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and travel as needed (limited).
