Job description
Join NovaTech Networks as a Senior Network Engineer in San Francisco. You will design, deploy, and optimize high-performance enterprise networks, including data center fabrics, WAN, and SD-WAN architectures. We value hands-on automation, security-conscious design, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
In this role you will contribute to network strategy, implement resilient and scalable infrastructure, and mentor junior engineers. You will work closely with security, cloud, and application teams to deliver reliable connectivity and performance.
Responsibility
- Design and implement scalable, secure network infrastructure across on-premises, data center, and cloud environments.
- Lead network project implementations including data center fabrics, campus networks, and WAN optimization.
- Develop automation using Python, Ansible, and other tooling to streamline operations and reduce manual tasks.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement remediation plans.
- Collaborate with security engineers to implement segmentation, firewall policies, and zero-trust concepts.
- Perform capacity planning, vendor management, and standardization of network devices and configurations.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, review designs, and contribute to documentation and playbooks.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on networking experience in enterprise or service provider environments.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent vendor credentials.
- Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), TCP/IP, QoS, VPN technologies.
- Experience with data center technologies (spine-leaf fabrics, virtualization tools) and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Programming or scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, or Ansible for automation.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and project-management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Security-minded mindset with practical experience implementing segmentation and access controls.
