Job description

Join NovaPack Innovations, a premium leader in sustainable packaging solutions. We are seeking a results-driven Senior Packaging Engineer to design, validate, and scale next‑gen packaging that protects products, reduces waste, and enhances brand value.

In this role you will collaborate across R&D, Operations, Sourcing, and Quality to deliver packaging concepts from concept to commercial launch. You will own design documentation, performance testing, and supplier qualification while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and sustainability goals.

We offer a dynamic environment, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to influence packaging strategy for global brands.

Responsibility

  • Lead end-to-end packaging development from concept to pilot runs and commercialization.
  • Design packaging architectures, select materials, and specify performance criteria and test methods.
  • Conduct DFMEA/DFSS, DOE, and reliability testing to optimize integrity and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Sourcing, and Suppliers to drive design-for-manufacturing and cost-down initiatives.
  • Manage packaging validation testing, labeling, and regulatory compliance (FDA/EN/ISO as applicable).
  • Develop and maintain packaging BOMs, spec sheets, and change notifications.
  • Champion sustainability improvements: material selection, recyclability, and waste reduction across portfolios.
  • Support scale-up, process validation, and transfer to high-volume production.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in consumer-packaged goods or packaging development.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and 3D modeling; experience with DOE.
  • Strong knowledge of materials science, barrier films, corrugated, plastics, and sustainability considerations.
  • Familiarity with GMP/ISO 9001/14001 and regulatory requirements; quality-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with supplier qualification, testing labs, and scale-up to high-volume production.
  • Lean Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving certification is a plus.
