At NovaPack Solutions, we design and manufacture innovative packaging solutions for leading consumer brands. We are seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to join our Chicago team and drive packaging innovation from concept through commercialization.
You will collaborate with product development, procurement, quality, and manufacturing to create packaging that protects product integrity, reduces waste, and enhances shelf impact. This is a hands on role that combines design thinking, materials science, and project leadership.

Responsibility
- Lead end to end packaging development from concept to commercialization for multiple SKUs.
- Design sustainable and cost effective packaging solutions using CAD and physical prototyping.
- Collaborate with R&D, procurement, QA, and manufacturing to ensure feasibility and scale up.
- Evaluate materials and barrier properties, perform risk assessments and FMEA, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate factory trials, testing, and validations.
- Own project schedules, budget, and milestones, delivering on time while maintaining quality.
- Drive packaging testing, labeling accuracy, and packaging line readiness for production.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in packaging engineering.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in packaging development for consumer goods
- Strong proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) and 3D prototyping
- Deep knowledge of materials science, barrier properties, and sustainable packaging
- Experience with GMP, FDA/Regulatory guidelines as applicable to packaging
- Excellent project management and cross functional collaboration skills
- Strong problem solving, root cause analysis, and FMEA
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
