We are seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to lead packaging design, validation, and optimization across multiple product lines. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role combining mechanical design, materials science, and process engineering to deliver packaging solutions that meet rigorous performance, cost, and sustainability targets.

Responsibility
- Lead the end-to-end packaging design process from concept to validation, including material selection, drawings, prototypes, and pilot runs.
- Collaborate with Product, Manufacturing, and QA teams to ensure packaging meets performance, cost, and sustainability targets.
- Develop and maintain packaging BOMs, specifications, and test protocols; drive supplier qualification for materials and components.
- Conduct drop, vibration, compression, climate, and IQ/OQ validation tests; analyze results and implement design improvements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma to reduce waste and cost per unit.
- Support scale-up and transition to production; troubleshoot packaging during new product introductions and line changes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality systems (GMP/ISO) and maintain documentation for audits.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Master's or PhD preferred for advanced roles.
- 5+ years of packaging design and development experience within consumer goods or CPG manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials (films, laminates, corrugates) and packaging machinery (form-fill-seal, cartoning, case packing).
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo) and PDM/PLM systems; experience with BOM management and material testing.
- Experience with testing standards (ISTA, drop tests, climatic testing) and data-driven decision making.
- Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Lean Six Sigma or equivalent certification is a plus; sustainability-focused mindset is essential.
- Knowledge of recyclability considerations and regulatory requirements in packaging.
