Job description
We are seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to lead development and optimization of packaging for our consumer products. This role blends materials science, design thinking, and supplier collaboration to deliver packaging solutions that protect product quality, reduce waste, and optimize cost.
At NovaPack Solutions, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate concepts into scalable, manufacturable packaging. You will own packaging strategy from concept through validation and commercial launch.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end packaging development from concept to launch across multiple product lines.
- Collaborate with product, design, procurement, and manufacturing teams to align requirements and feasibility.
- Design packaging structures, materials, and specs to optimize cost, performance, and sustainability.
- Perform DFx analyses (DFM, DFMEA) and contribute to design reviews and testing plans.
- Manage supplier relationships, prototype testing, and qualification activities with external partners.
- Maintain packaging BOMs, change controls, and technical documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Ensure packaging solutions meet labeling, material safety, and regulatory requirements.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Design, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on packaging design/development in consumer goods or CPG environments.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials (folding carton, corrugate, flexible packaging) and related testing methods.
- Proficiency with CAD tools (ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks) and packaging optimization software; experience with simulation is a plus.
- Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and regulatory compliance (labeling, packaging standards, etc.).
