Join NovaPack Solutions, a leader in sustainable packaging design and manufacturing. We are seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to drive innovative packaging solutions from concept to launch. This role combines packaging science, materials selection, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality, cost-effective packaging that protects product integrity and enhances consumer experience.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will partner with R&D, manufacturing, procurement, and quality to scale packaging projects that meet performance, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibility

  • Lead the design and development of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging concepts for new and existing products.
  • Perform material selection, testing, and validation to ensure durability, shelf-life, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to optimize packaging lines, reduce waste, and improve line efficiency.
  • Manage packaging BOMs, cost models, and supplier interfaces to achieve target cost and lead times.
  • Develop and execute packaging validation plans (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ensure documentation per Quality System.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives, including material substitutions, recyclability, and compostability assessments.
  • Coordinate cross-functional design reviews, risk assessments, and project timelines to meet product launch deadlines.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians in packaging best practices and standards.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in packaging development, materials, or related roles within manufacturing or consumer goods.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials (cardboard, corrugate, plastics, foams) and conversion processes.
  • Experience with ISTA/ASTM testing protocols and packaging validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and packaging design software; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Track record of cost optimization, supplier management, and project leadership.
