Join PackLogic Global as a Senior Packaging Engineer. Lead the design, development, and optimization of packaging solutions for consumer products from concept to production. This role blends engineering rigor with sustainability and cost-down mindset, delivering packages that protect product integrity while delighting consumers.
As a packaging expert, you will drive innovative packaging concepts, partner with cross-functional teams, and shape strategies that balance performance, manufacturability, and environmental impact.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end packaging development for consumer products, from concept to validation, ensuring performance, cost, and sustainability targets are met.
- Collaborate with R&D, operations, and sourcing to optimize materials, sealing methods, and conversion processes.
- Create and manage packaging BOMs, specs, test plans, and validation protocols; oversee packaging trials and scale-up.
- Design for manufacturability and supply chain readiness, optimizing line efficiencies and reducing changeover times.
- Conduct risk assessments, DFMEA, and quality investigations for packaging failures; drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Source, evaluate, and manage external suppliers/materials to meet performance, cost, and sustainability requirements.
- Ensure packaging complies with regulatory requirements, labeling, and sustainability standards applicable in target markets.
Qualification
- BS or MS in Packaging, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of packaging design/engineering experience in consumer goods, including rigid and flexible packaging.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, printing, lamination, barrier properties, sealing, and conversion.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and packaging design software; experience with 3D prototyping.
- Experience with BOM management and ERP/PLM systems; ability to create and maintain documentation.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (FDA/REACH/RoHS) and sustainability initiatives; knowledge of recyclability and end-of-life considerations.
- Project management experience and the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication, negotiation with suppliers, and presentation skills.
