NovaPack Solutions, a leader in premium product packaging, is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to drive packaging strategy and execution across multiple product lines. This role blends engineering rigor with creative packaging solutions to optimize performance, cost, and sustainability.
We are looking for an innovative, collaborative engineer who can partner with R&D, design, procurement, and manufacturing to deliver packaging that protects product quality while delighting consumers.
Responsibility
- Lead the end-to-end packaging development process from concept through commercialization, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with brand goals.
- Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Procurement, and Manufacturing to define packaging strategy, specs, and cost targets.
- Design packaging formats, materials, and tolerances that meet performance, shelf life, and sustainability requirements.
- Plan and execute packaging performance testing (drop, vibration, compression, stress) and failure analysis; implement robust root-cause resolution.
- Manage supplier relationships, quotes, validation tests, and risk assessments for packaging components.
- Maintain accurate packaging BOMs, drawings, and specifications in the PLM system; ensure traceability.
- Optimize packaging lines for manufacturability, line packing efficiency, and total cost of ownership reduction.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in packaging design and development for consumer products. Leadership experience a plus.
- Deep knowledge of packaging materials, converting processes, carton design, barrier properties, and regulatory compliance (FDA, EU, etc.).
- Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and packaging simulation/3D visualization; experience with PLM systems.
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; adept at translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Commitment to sustainability and circular economy practices; familiarity with Life Cycle Assessment is a plus.
- Experience with mechanical testing methods (drop, vibration, compression) and data-driven decision making.
