We are seeking a Senior Policy Analyst to join our public sector focus in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate translates complex policy issues into actionable analyses and supports urban governance initiatives across municipal and federal agencies. This role offers the opportunity to influence budgeting decisions, program evaluation, and public engagement strategies.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will research, synthesize data from multiple sources, and present policy recommendations that inform decision-makers and improve public outcomes.
Responsibility
- Conduct rigorous policy analysis and impact assessments for municipal programs and regulatory proposals.
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations and briefing materials for executive leadership and elected officials.
- Collaborate with city agencies, nonprofit partners, and community stakeholders to gather input and validate findings.
- Monitor program performance using dashboards, KPIs, and qualitative metrics; prepare periodic evaluations.
- Prepare reports, memos, and presentations for council meetings, public hearings, and agency briefings.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects, manage timelines, and assist with grant applications and funding requests.
- Ensure policy documents comply with legal, ethical, and accessibility standards, and translate technical concepts for a broad audience.
Qualification
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of policy analysis, program evaluation, or public administration experience in government or a public-sector organization.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills (Excel, data visualization, research methods); familiarity with SQL is a plus.
- Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders, including community groups, government agencies, and policymakers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to distill complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal policy landscapes and regulatory processes.
- Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
