Lumina Print Solutions is seeking a skilled Printing Technician to join our dynamic production team in Chicago. We specialize in high-volume offset and digital printing for commercial clients, packaging, and promotional materials.
As a Printing Technician, you will operate and maintain printing presses, ensure color accuracy, manage substrates, and collaborate with prepress and bindery teams to meet tight deadlines with impeccable quality.
Responsibility
- Set up and operate offset and digital presses according to job specifications.
- Monitor color accuracy, perform color calibrations, and adjust ink densities to meet proofs.
- Prepare substrates, inks, plates, and coatings; verify material compatibility.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of printing equipment.
- Review production tickets, ensure on-time delivery, and communicate with prepress and bindery teams.
- Implement quality checks at key stages and document deviations for corrective action.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with plant safety standards.
Qualification
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in offset and digital printing environments.
- Strong understanding of color management, ICC profiles, and press calibration.
- Ability to read job tickets, proofs, and color bars; adept at interpreting specifications.
- Familiarity with prepress workflows, platen/flexo or digital presses is a plus.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and safety-conscious mindset.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in printing is a plus.
