Join Apex Packaging Group, a premium leader in sustainable packaging solutions. We are seeking a Senior Product Packaging Designer to drive end-to-end packaging concepts from ideation to manufacturing. You will collaborate with product teams, sustainability engineers, and supplier partners to deliver innovative, compliant, and cost-optimized packaging that protects products and elevates brand experiences.
In this role, you will lead packaging architecture, material selection, dieline development, and 3D prototyping, ensuring ISTA and regulatory compliance. You will mentor juniors, influence packaging strategy, and contribute to our sustainability initiatives.
Responsibility
- Lead the end-to-end packaging design process from concept through production launch, ensuring aesthetic, functional, and cost targets.
- Develop packaging architecture, dielines, and 3D prototypes to validate form, fit, and function.
- Collaborate with product teams, graphic designers, and suppliers to select materials that balance performance and sustainability.
- Conduct packaging tests and simulations (ISTA, drop, vibration) to ensure durability and regulatory compliance.
- Manage projects, timelines, and vendor relationships to ensure on-time readiness for manufacturing.
- Mentor junior designers and share best practices across the organization to elevate packaging quality.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Materials Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in packaging design or packaging engineering for consumer products.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, plus 3D rendering and prototyping.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, conversion processes, and sustainability-focused design.
- Experience with ISTA standards, regulatory compliance, and vendor management.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
- Portfolio demonstrating successful packaging systems from concept to launch.
