Job description
Join a leading consumer goods packaging organization driving sustainable, high performance packaging across APAC. This role sits at the intersection of design, materials science, manufacturing and supply chain, shaping how products are protected, branded and delivered to customers.
As a Senior Product Packaging Engineer you will own end to end packaging development from concept through launch, collaborate with design, procurement, quality and production teams, and deliver solutions that optimize cost, weight, recyclability and barrier performance.
Responsibility
- Lead packaging concept development for new product launches and line extensions, translating consumer and brand requirements into feasible packaging solutions.
- Drive packaging optimization through data analysis, testing, and design of experiments to reduce cost and material usage.
- Collaborate with R&D, design, procurement and manufacturing to define specs, BOMs and packaging validation plans.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate labeling across regional markets including Singapore and APAC.
- Manage supplier relationships, qualifications, testing, and scale up for mass production.
- Lead sustainability initiatives focusing on material selection, recyclability and end of life considerations.
- Document design history files, risk assessments, FMEA, DFMEA and maintain packaging documentation in PLM systems.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of packaging design/engineering experience in consumer goods or pharmaceutical sectors
- Deep knowledge of packaging materials, barriers, compatibility and sustainability
- Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks or Creo), 3D modeling and GD&T
- Strong experience with DOE, FMEA, packaging validation and testing protocols
- Familiarity with regulatory labeling and compliance in Singapore and APAC markets
- Excellent written and verbal communication, cross functional collaboration and project management skills
