Join NovaPack Solutions, a leader in sustainable packaging for consumer brands. We are seeking a results-driven Senior Product Packaging Manager to guide end-to-end packaging programs from concept to shelf-ready execution. This role blends design, engineering, and supply chain collaboration to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging solutions.
In this role you will partner with Marketing, R&D, Procurement, and Operations to define packaging strategy, select materials, drive stability testing, and ensure regulatory compliance across markets. You will mentor a cross-functional team and champion best practices in packaging optimization and sustainability.
Responsibility
- Lead the development and governance of packaging strategies for new and existing products, ensuring alignment with brand, cost, and sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with Design, R&D, and Procurement to select materials, structures, and finishes that deliver shelf appeal and protection while reducing total cost and environmental footprint.
- Own the packaging bill of materials (BOM), participate in feasibility studies, and drive packaging validation, testing, and qualification across markets.
- Steward packaging timelines, risk assessments, and change management to ensure on-time launches and seamless launches across channels.
- Champion sustainability initiatives, including material substitution, recyclability, and compliance with packaging regulations (e.g., recycled content, labeling).
- Lead a cross-functional team, set performance goals, mentor junior packaging engineers, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Analyze performance metrics, supplier performance, and cost data to drive informed decisions and deliver cost savings without compromising quality.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; MBA or PMP a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in consumer packaged goods packaging development, engineering, or sourcing.
- Proven track record delivering packaging programs from ideation through commercialization, with strong project management skills.
- Strong understanding of materials science, packaging technologies, and test methods (e.g., compatibility, seal integrity, drop/stack tests).
- Experience with sustainability initiatives, recyclability, and regulatory compliance across multiple markets.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with PLM, SAP or Oracle, and data-driven decision making; strong Excel and data analysis skills.
