Join our dynamic public administration team dedicated to advancing transparent, data-driven governance in Washington, DC. This Senior Public Policy Analyst role blends policy research, program evaluation, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver actionable insights that improve city services and community outcomes. You will work with senior leaders, researchers, and cross-sector partners to shape strategy and implement evidence-based initiatives.
Responsibility
- Conduct in-depth policy analysis on urban governance, public safety, housing, budgeting, and service delivery.
- Design, implement, and evaluate programs aligned with city priorities; develop performance metrics and dashboards.
- Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources; translate findings into clear briefings for executives and council members.
- Prepare policy memos, whitepapers, and reports that influence decision making at the municipal level.
- Engage with community groups, non profits, business associations, and state agencies to gather input and build consensus.
- Lead cross-functional projects, manage timelines, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
- Support budget development with cost benefit analyses and scenario planning for proposed initiatives.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess compliance implications for programs and services.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, Economics or related field; Masterβs degree preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in public policy analysis, government, or public sector settings.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills; proficiency with data tools (Excel, SQL, Python, R).
- Experience with program evaluation, performance measurement, and dashboard reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proven stakeholder engagement and partnership management across agencies and community groups.
- Solid understanding of local government processes, budgeting, and regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and GIS is a plus.
