Lumina Communications is a premium public relations firm based in New York City, partnering with technology, consumer, and lifestyle brands to craft powerful narratives that drive impact. Weâre expanding our NYC team and seeking a Senior Public Relations Manager who can lead strategic programs, elevate client stories, and mentor rising PR stars.
In this role, youâll own client PR strategy, oversee media relations, and guide cross-functional campaigns from concept to execution. If youâre data-driven, creative, and collaborative, youâll thrive in our fast-paced environment that rewards initiative and results.
Responsibility
- Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies that align with client goals and measurable outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with national and trade media; secure high-impact coverage across outlets.
- Draft press releases, media briefings, pitches, contributed articles, and executive bios.
- Lead crisis communications planning, media response, and rapid-damage control when needed.
- Manage integrated campaigns across earned media, influencer partnerships, events, and owned channels.
- Oversee budgets, timelines, and resource allocation; supervise and mentor junior team members.
- Track coverage, analyze performance metrics, and provide clients with actionable insights and reports.
Qualification
- Bachelorâs degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (masterâs preferred).
- 5+ years of PR or communications experience with a proven track record of securing national media coverage; experience in tech, consumer, or healthcare a plus.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong media relationships across national and trade outlets; adept at crafting compelling pitches.
- Experience managing client relationships, budgets, and cross-functional teams; proven leadership skills.
- Crisis communications expertise and ability to perform under pressure with sound judgment.
- Proficiency with PR tools (Cision/Meltwater), media monitoring, analytics platforms, and social media management.
