Join Aurora Communications Group as a Senior Public Relations Manager in New York City. This role leads media strategy, corporate communications, and brand reputation for a diverse client base. You will build strong media relationships, craft compelling narratives, and coordinate crisis communications when needed. The ideal candidate exhibits strategic thinking, hands-on PR execution, and a proven track record of securing top-tier press coverage.
In this role you will collaborate with marketing, digital, and product teams to ensure consistent messaging across channels, manage media inquiries, and mentor junior staff.
Responsibility
- Develop and execute integrated PR strategies across earned, owned, and social channels.
- Build and maintain relationships with national and trade media to secure proactive coverage.
- Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, pitch emails, statements, and briefing materials.
- Plan and manage media events, press conferences, and executive media trainings.
- Monitor coverage, analyze impact, and report insights to leadership with clear KPIs.
- Lead crisis communications planning, message development, and rapid response protocols.
- Collaborate with marketing, digital, and product teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in communications, PR, marketing, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 6+ years of public relations, corporate communications, or agency experience.
- Strong media relationships with national outlets and trade publications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with outstanding storytelling ability.
- Experience in crisis communications and high-pressure deadline environments.
- Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach and proficiency with PR tools such as Cision or Meltwater preferred.
- Project management skills and ability to lead teams and manage multiple campaigns.
