Job description
We are seeking a passionate Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our rapidly growing product team in Austin, TX. You will design and execute comprehensive test strategies across web and mobile platforms, ensure product quality from inception to release, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality metrics.
What you'll do: collaborate with product managers and engineers, define test plans, create and maintain automated test suites, perform manual testing when needed, contribute to CI/CD workflows, report defects with clear reproduction steps, and advocate for quality throughout the software lifecycle. You'll have the opportunity to mentor junior QA engineers and influence product quality at scale.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain automated and manual test strategies for web and mobile applications.
- Translate product requirements into comprehensive test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright; integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
- Execute regression testing and perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and UX teams to prioritize quality efforts and track defects in Jira.
- Define and monitor quality metrics; drive continuous improvement of testing processes.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and participate in code and design reviews from a quality perspective.
- Ensure compliance with security, performance, and accessibility requirements (e.g., WCAG, OWASP).
Qualification
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance for software products; or 3+ years in a senior or lead QA role.
- Strong experience with manual testing and test automation; excellent test design and risk assessment skills.
- Proficiency with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and scripting (JavaScript, Python).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and defect tracking tools (Jira).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in fast-paced environments.
- Knowledge of performance, security, and accessibility testing; familiarity with WCAG and OWASP is a plus.
- Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and documentation skills (test plans, release notes, bug reports).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
