The ideal candidate will design and execute experiments, develop analytical methods, and contribute to the translation of innovative chemistry into practical products.
In this role you will lead exploratory projects from concept to data-driven conclusions, collaborate across disciplines, and help shape our next generation of materials with a strong emphasis on quality and reproducibility.
Responsibility
- Lead planning and execution of chemistry experiments to develop new materials and analytical methods.
- Design, optimize, and validate analytical methods (HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, NMR) and QC protocols.
- Analyze data, interpret results, and generate technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation; mentor junior scientists and interns.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (GMP/GLP).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, manufacturing, external partners) to accelerate scale-up and transfer processes.
- Document all work thoroughly, contribute to patent considerations, and disseminate knowledge through internal seminars.
Qualification
- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field; 3+ years of industry experience or a PhD with relevant postdocs preferred (MS with substantial experience considered).
- Strong expertise in analytical techniques (HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, NMR, FTIR) and routine QC operations.
- Solid background in synthetic chemistry and material characterization; hands-on lab bench capability.
- Proven experience with method development, validation, and data analysis (DOE, statistics, reproducibility).
- Familiarity with GMP/GLP environments, documentation, and quality systems.
- Proficiency with data analysis software (ChemDraw, MestReNova, Python, MATLAB) and data management practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project leadership skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed team.
