Responsibility
- Lead the design, execution, and management of advanced experiments in quantum optics or related areas.
- Develop and maintain high-precision instrumentation, including laser systems, detectors, vacuum and cryogenic infrastructure.
- Analyze experimental data with Python, MATLAB, or equivalent tools; generate publication-quality figures and summaries.
- Collaborate with theory and engineering teams to translate research findings into prototypes and potential products.
- Mentor graduate students, postdocs, and junior scientists; contribute to team mentorship and training programs.
- Prepare technical reports, grant proposals, and internal presentations; communicate results to stakeholders.
- Ensure rigorous experimental protocols, safety standards, and quality control across all projects.
Qualification
- PhD in Physics, or an MSc with extensive hands-on experience in experimental physics; demonstrated achievement in relevant subfields.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and conducting experiments in quantum optics, condensed matter, or related fields.
- Expertise with laser systems, optical instrumentation, cryogenics, vacuum technology, and precision measurement.
- Strong programming skills in Python and MATLAB; experience with LabVIEW or similar control software.
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations; excellent scientific communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams; strong problem-solving and project management abilities.
- Willingness to relocate to Cambridge, MA, and to maintain compliance with all safety and security policies.
