NovaGuard Financial Services is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to lead our enterprise risk management program in New York City. This role collaborates with senior leadership to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across financial, operational, and regulatory domains. Responsibility
- Lead the enterprise risk management (ERM) program, identifying, assessing, and monitoring risks across the organization.
- Develop risk appetite and tolerance frameworks aligned to business strategy and capital planning.
- Oversee risk governance, policy development, escalation processes, and board-level reporting.
- Collaborate with IT, security, compliance, and operations to design and implement effective controls.
- Perform scenario analysis, stress testing, and quantitative risk modeling to inform decision-making.
- Coordinate risk reporting to executive management and the board risk committee, ensuring clarity and timeliness.
- Monitor regulatory changes, coordinate audits, and ensure compliance with applicable frameworks (COSO, Basel, IFRS 9).
- Foster a culture of risk awareness through training and cross-functional partnership.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, risk management or related field; professional designations (CFA or FRM) preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of risk management experience in financial services or corporate organizations.
- Strong knowledge of ERM frameworks (COSO), Basel II/III, IFRS 9, and regulatory reporting.
- Proven experience with risk analytics, data governance, and quantitative modeling using SQL, Python, R, or similar tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills; demonstrated leadership and collaboration.
- Proficiency with risk management software (e.g., Archer, MetricStream) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Ability to translate complex risk concepts into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
