Join Apex Risk Analytics, a leading risk management firm, as a Senior Risk Manager in New York. You will design, implement, and continuously improve our enterprise risk management program, partnering with business leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate risk across all risk domains. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on program leadership to safeguard value for clients and stakeholders.
As a key member of the risk leadership team, you’ll drive governance, reporting, and regulatory alignment while fostering a culture of proactive risk management.
Responsibility
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the enterprise risk management framework across operational, financial, and strategic risk domains.
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments, identify control gaps, and quantify risk exposure using standardized methodologies.
- Develop, monitor, and report key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk appetite statements to senior leadership and the board.
- Coordinate scenario analysis, stress testing, and risk modeling to support business planning and capital planning.
- Oversee regulatory change management, ensure timely compliance, and maintain documentation for audits and exams.
- Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to strengthen technology risk controls and incident response.
- Lead risk governance forums, present findings, and recommend risk mitigation strategies to executives.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, risk management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive risk management experience in financial services or a regulated industry.
- Solid knowledge of risk frameworks (COSO, ISO 31000) and regulatory regimes (Basel II/III, SOX, GDPR/CCPA as applicable).
- Strong data analytics skills (SQL, Python/R, Excel) and experience with risk modeling and data visualization.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder management; experience presenting to boards or risk committees.
- Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, or CRM are a plus.
- Proactive, independent thinker with strong problem-solving and collaboration abilities.
