Apex Risk Partners is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to lead our enterprise risk program across financial services clients. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on risk assessment to safeguard assets, protect client interests, and drive data-driven decision making.
In this high-impact position, you will collaborate with senior leadership to enhance risk governance, quantify risk exposure, and ensure alignment with regulatory expectations. The ideal candidate brings a strong quantitative background, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering risk insights in complex environments.
Responsibility
- Develop and implement the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework, including risk taxonomy, risk appetite, and governance structures.
- Lead periodic risk assessments across markets, products, and operations to identify, measure, and monitor principal risks.
- Aggregate, analyze, and report risk metrics to executive leadership and the board on a regular cadence.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., Basel III/IV, SOX, GDPR where relevant).
- Oversee risk indicators, stress testing, scenario analysis, and capital planning to support strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with risk owners to implement mitigation plans and track remediation progress.
- Champion risk culture through training, communication, and clear governance processes.
- Partner with technology and data teams to enhance data quality, tooling, and risk reporting capabilities.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field; Master's degree or professional designations (FRM, CFA) preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in risk management within financial services, consulting, or a regulated industry.
- Strong quantitative skills with proficiency in risk modeling, data analytics, and reporting.
- Hands-on experience with Basel capital frameworks, regulatory requirements, and risk governance frameworks (COSO/ERM).
- Proficiency in SQL, Python or R, and data visualization tools to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to present complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
