Join ApexGuard Capital, a leading financial services firm specializing in risk analytics and governance. We are seeking a Senior Risk Manager to lead our enterprise risk management program in New York City. You will partner with executives to identify, measure, and mitigate risk across the organization, ensuring robust controls and regulatory alignment.
In this role, you will own risk quantification, scenario planning, and governance reporting, while mentoring a team of risk professionals.
Responsibility
- Lead the enterprise risk management program, maintaining risk taxonomy, registers, and risk appetite statements across business units.
- Develop and monitor risk metrics, dashboards, stress tests, and scenario analyses to inform strategic decision-making.
- Govern regulatory compliance programs (SOX, GDPR, Basel III) and coordinate audits with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business units to design and implement effective internal controls and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee third-party and vendor risk management, including due diligence and continuous monitoring.
- Manage incident response, business continuity planning, and crisis management readiness.
- Prepare and present risk governance reports to senior leadership and the Board, driving informed action.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of risk analysts and associates.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field; advanced degrees or professional certifications (FRM, CFA) preferred.
- 5+ years of enterprise risk management experience in financial services or large enterprises.
- Strong knowledge of ERM frameworks (COSO, ISO 31000) and regulatory requirements (SOX, Basel III).
- Proven data analytics skills with SQL, Python or R, plus experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills; ability to influence at senior levels.
- Experience with risk governance, policy development, and audit coordination.
- Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
