Join Acme Tax Solutions, a premium tax advisory firm, as a Senior Tax Analyst in New York. We seek a technically proficient professional who blends rigorous tax discipline with strategic business insight to deliver compliant, efficient tax strategies for a diverse client base.
In this role, you will partner with finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure accurate tax reporting, proactive planning, and risk management across federal, state, and international tax requirements. You will lead complex tax projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibility
- Lead US federal, state, and local tax compliance and reporting for multiple entities, including preparation and timely filing.
- Prepare and review ASC 740 tax provisions, including uncertain tax positions and effective tax rate analyses.
- Research, document, and communicate complex tax issues; develop planning opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities; ensure timely responses and robust audit support.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize tax liability while maintaining compliance and governance.
- Mentor and coach junior tax staff; drive process improvements using tax software, data analytics, and standardized controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align tax strategy with business objectives and financial reporting timelines.
- Monitor regulatory changes and translate them into actionable recommendations for leadership.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Chartered Accountant designation preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive tax experience in corporate tax or public accounting with strong US federal and state exposure.
- Solid knowledge of ASC 740, GAAP/IFRS, and transfer pricing concepts; experience with multi-national tax issues a plus.
- Proficiency with tax software and ERP systems (e.g., OneSource, Thomson Reuters clearance tools, SAP/NetSuite).
- Excellent analytical, research, and written/verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex issues into clear recommendations for leadership.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset and demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
