NovaTransit is seeking a Senior Transportation Operations Manager to scale our Seattle-based operations and deliver exceptional service for multi-modal transportation networks. You will lead a high-performance team, partner with product and engineering, and drive data-backed decisions that improve efficiency, safety, and customer experience.

Responsibility
- Develop and execute end-to-end transportation operations strategy across multiple modes to meet service levels and cost targets.
- Lead daily operations, monitor KPIs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to shorten transit times and reduce OTIF errors.
- Manage carrier procurement, negotiation, and performance, optimizing lane economics and service levels.
- Design and optimize routing plans using TMS and data analytics to maximize capacity and reduce empty miles.
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and a culture of safety across the team.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success to align on customer requirements and service design.
- Drive change management through process automation and adoption of new tools and analytics capabilities.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with customers, carriers, and vendors to sustain high satisfaction and retention.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, operations, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 6+ years in transportation or logistics operations, with multi-modal exposure.
- Strong data analytics skills; proficiency in Excel, SQL, and a TMS/WMS (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Mercury platform).
- Proven track record of driving cost-to-serve improvements and on-time delivery metrics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory compliance (FMCSA, DOT) and audit readiness.
- Experience with route optimization and carrier management; strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrix organization and to lead through influence.
