Job description
Join Pacific Horizon Transportation as a Transportation Planner in Seattle, WA, shaping urban mobility and freight efficiency. You will partner with public agencies, private operators, and internal teams to design data-driven transportation solutions that reduce congestion, improve safety, and promote sustainable transit.
This role blends policy insight, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver actionable plans, performance metrics, and implementation roadmaps for citywide and corridor-level projects.
Responsibility
- Develop and maintain transportation models and performance metrics to inform planning decisions.
- Analyze traffic data, transit ridership, and freight flows to identify optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with city agencies, consultants, and operators to design corridors and service improvements.
- Create corridor plans, travel demand analyses, and environmental reviews as required.
- Support grant applications and project proposals with data-driven results and budgets.
- Present findings to stakeholders and facilitate workshops for consensus-building.
- Monitor implementation and track outcomes post-launch, adjusting strategies as needed.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Transportation or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 3+ years of transportation planning experience in urban or regional settings.
- Proficiency with GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) and transportation modeling tools (Cube, PTV Visum, or equivalent).
- Strong data analysis and visualization skills ( Excel, Python/R is a plus).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation policies and grant processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
